Homeschool Lessons: Our Favorite Subscriptions!

Homeschooling can be a lot of work, advantageous, and fun. Worksheets are a necessary learning tool, but they do get boring. So, it's essential to add in some hands-on learning and digital learning. These subscriptions can add much fun and will be sure to inspire if you are not creative or uninspired. Here are our favorite subscriptions that I believe are worth the investment.

Kiwi Co.

Hands-on Learning

Kiwi Co.

We have been subscribed to them since the beginning of our homeschool journey. We started with the Kiwi Crate, which caters to children 5-8 with fun STEAM projects. When my daughter got a little older, we switched to the Tinker Crate for ages 9-14 with fun hands-on STEM kits. I can usually find a box that goes with our corresponding lesson, making STEM lessons much more exciting and fun! They have so many subscription lines for babies to adults alike. KiwiCo is the gift that keeps on giving. They make great gifts for curious minds.

Mel Chemistry

Mel Science

They take science to new heights with boxes for coding, STEM, physics, chemistry, and medicine. We are currently subscribed to the physics course, but I've recently discovered that you can select multiple courses and adjust the number of boxes you'd like to receive. Select one box a month, and they'll choose which course to send. With our subscription, we received a kit filled with beakers and safety glasses and felt official and ready to learn. This is my daughter's favorite, she loves exploring all the exciting reactions that happen with particular chemicals. We love Mel Science and cannot wait to try their other subjects.

Digital Learning

Table Fables

This has been a game-changer for us. We recently began diving into multiplication and division, and I must admit I was at a loss for the best way to get her excited. Table Fables found me via IG and asked me to try it on a trial basis. I was like ok, let's give it a try. Why not? I would never have imagined how outstanding it could be. My daughter learned multiplication in recorded breaking time. I started with the basics in class, and by the end of our 1st couple of lessons, all she could remember was one times table which we know means nothing. It is the easiest. Alas, progress is still progress, albeit a slow one. So, Table Fables came right on time. Their method of turning each number into characters somehow resonates with my daughter and has made her a wiz with multiplication. To be sure, I call out random multiplication during the day, and she gets it right. But it's safe to say Table Fables is onto something here. They are a small family business just starting, but their methods are proving effective.

ABC Mouse & Adventure Academy

We started with ABC Mouse when she was in PreK- second grade. This was a valuable part of our daily lessons with songs and a learning path that taught her so much. These programs go a long way to enrich our studies. Once she aged out of ABC Mouse, we discovered Adventure Academy. It's for ages 8-13, and they have language arts, math, science, and more. Their lessons are structured like missions and make learning a fun journey. In addition, they make learning fun and portable as these programs have apps that can be downloaded to a phone or tablet. This comes in handy on days when I am not feeling well, we are traveling, or If I need a quiet moment during the school day to complete other tasks.
