Unit One Lesson Four: How can Matter be the same or different?


Did you know that matter cannot be created or destroyed according to the law of conservation of matter? This means that no matter what changes occur, the amount of matter stays the same. For instance, when water changes from solid ice to liquid water to water vapor, its chemical composition remains unchanged despite its physical transformation. Fascinating, isn't it? Although matter can be different depending on its state, as mentioned above, it remains unchanged whether it's solid ice, water, or vapor.
